Just ran across this while searching inspiration. It seem like Square offers a free swiper no contract and relatively cheap fees and allows you to accept credit card payments on your iphone/pad. Pretty crazy looking! I’m curious to see how well it works. This might get ride of the huge hassle that is required to get a card swiper from your bank if you just need one for a single event or only occasionally (read artists, craft fair people, etc.). Might have to get one just to see how well it works!
Printed matter book fair

Last weekend was the Printed Matter book fair at PS1 in Long Island city. GasWorks took a little field trip up there the check out what all the commotion was about. First things first there was soooooo much stuff to see. Basically all of PS1 was full of zine, magazines, art books, posters, and far beyond. All three floors of the former school building were packed full of vendors and publishers. We really needed more then just one afternoon there, ideally we would have loved to have had the full four days the show was up to peruse. But still there were a number of gems in there.

PRINTED MATTER NY BOOK FAIR FIELD TRIP

The weekend of the NYC book Fair presented by Printed Matter fast approches! Free admission to PS1 and promises to be chock full of wonderful print stuff.
Meet at 12pm at the Nassua G stop and we can walk up if it’s really nice or take the G to Long island city.

We have two desks for rent in our huge loft space in an awesome industrial building. The studio has a freight elevator that opens into the space, slop sink and screen printing area, tons of windows and Manhattan views!
We are a collective of design / web / film peeps looking for some good people that do great work and are interested in renting desk space. We each have our own work and clients but we very often work together with other people in the space since each of us has more work than we want!
